First, what is that sound you hear when clicking around this site?

It gets its name from the distinctive “ko-kee” call made by male Coquís at night, which is heard all across the island. The Coquí is a small tree frog native to Puerto Rico, scientifically known as Eleutherodactylus coqui. They are tiny, usually 1–2 inches long. They hatch as fully formed frogs with no tadpole stage. They are nocturnal, filling Puerto Rican nights with their signature sound that you can hear while clicking around the Escambron.com website.

The Coquí is more than just a frog. That sound connects you immediately to the heart of Puerto Rico. It symbolizes National Pride, Home, Identity, Nature and a cultural icon of Puerto Rico.
